Drape98 Receives Top Honors in Annual Envisions Design and Ingenuity Competition
Chris Harrelson and Amy Hunley, co-owners of Drape98 have been recognized at the window treatment industry’s elite awards ceremony.
Drape98 Express, LLC was the recipient of 2015 Window Treatment Designer of the Year as well as Best in Motorized Window Treatments at the prestigious Envision Design and Ingenuity Workroom Competition, presented by Windows Fashion Vision magazine. The 31st annual “best of the best” awards ceremony recognizes excellence in the design and fabrication of custom window treatments.
A panel of distinguished window covering experts reviewed more than 150 entries received from designers and workrooms in Japan, Canada the United Kingdom and throughout the United States.Winners were announced at the International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE) at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV, which took place on January 20th, 2015.
The winning design was for a spacious, Florida Gulf-front home just off South Walton County’s prestigious Hwy 30A. Privacy and light control issues clearly had to be balanced against optimizing the spectacular views from the nearly double-height windows in the living and dining rooms. Working as co-designers on the window treatments with Bevin Jones, of A Boheme Design, Chris and Amy developed a series of seemingly simple, functional treatments for almost every room in the home, all featuring user-friendly motorization that did not require extensive rewiring.
“We’re delighted to be selected for this prestigious award,” said Chris. “It’s the culmination of a lot of the work we’ve been doing with designers over the last several years.”
“We’ve collaborated with numerous designers in Florida and Atlanta, and on projects as far afield as North Carolina, Texas, and the Caribbean,” Amy stated, “but this is probably the most complicated. It needed an elegant simplicity that we’re happy we were able to achieve for our clients. Receiving this award is a gratifying bonus!”
